Stymptoms Of Acid Reflux Disease

At it's most basic level acid reflux is when acid comes up from your stomach to your throat. It burns and can practically choke you if it is severe. Of course there is a more to it then just that. This happens because the barrier between the stomach and esophagus fails. This allows the acid to move upwards towards your esophagus.

Things To Look For

The main acid reflux symptom is severe heartburn that won't go away. The first place you will feel the pain is in the chest area. It can be so severe that you could mistaken it for being a heart attack. You may also feel burning in the stomach and even in the throat area. At it's worst it will last a couple hours.

Those are just some of the most common acid reflux symptoms. You may also feel full in the stomach, discomfort after eating, discomfort laying down, and discomfort when bending over.

Many people will also experience GERD like symptoms. GERD is when you have trouble swallowing, sore throat, chest pains, and even constant hiccups. GERD and acid reflux often go together for many who suffer from them.

How To Treat And Cure Acid Reflux

There are many types of acid reflux medications that work and many natural remedies that work even better. We will take a look at both medications and remedies that you can try at home.

Nexium oral is one of the more common drugs prescribed for acid reflux. What it does is simply block acid production in the stomach. This may not work as well as you would like. In many cases acid reflux is caused by the fact your stomach is not producing enough acid. As you can see this may make your condition even worse

Prevacid oral works more or less the same as Nexium. It simply blocks your stomach from producing even more acid. There is some potential for this to create problems depending on the cause of your acid reflux condition.

Now were going to take a look at a couple good natural remedies. I recommend that you try vinegar first. When most people hear vinegar they think I'm nuts, but your really need to try it for yourself. One teaspoon should be all your need to get the job done.

The second natural remedy that I recommend for you to try is baking soda and water. The baking soda can give your stomach some added juice to help it break down your foods and sooth your stomach.
